A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the designation of a portion of Interstate Highway 10 inside the city limits of El Paso as the Gene Roddenberry Memorial Highway. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, is amended by adding Section 225.057 to read as follows:
Sec. 225.057. GENE RODDENBERRY MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.
(a) Interstate Highway 10 in the municipal boundaries of El Paso is designated as the Gene Roddenberry Memorial Highway.
(b) The department shall design and construct memorial markers indicating the highway number, the designation as the Gene Roddenberry Memorial Highway, and any other appropriate information.
(c) The department shall erect a marker at each end of the highway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
(d) In this section, a reference to the municipal boundaries of El Paso means those boundaries as they existed on September 1, 2003.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
