NEWS STORIES

It is amazing to me that major web sites all over the world have given coverage to this story.  I am very grateful to all of you.  Locally, one news station,
KTSM News Channel 9 (NBC Affiliate),
did a story, aired it more than once, and did a
web poll.
Below are links to the various news stories that I have become aware of.  Again, thank you all!

PS:  PLEASE let me know if you find other stories so that I may properly thank everyone, and provide links to them!

Roddenberry deserves honor

I have heard about a movement to name the portion of Interstate Highway 10 that is within the City limits of El Paso after the creator of Star Trek, the late Gene Roddenberry.

What a marvelous idea.

I have lived in El Paso for more than 30 years.  Several groups have tried, with little or no success, to create tourism interest in our city.  Some suggest making it the Mexican food capital of the world or focusing on the Wild West history, etc.

Perhaps it is time to try something completely different.

I urge the leaders of El Paso to support the effort to name part of I-10 in honor of Roddenberry.  I don’t believe to would cost extra money to do so because the signs could be changed during normal replacement schedules.

El Paso may be able to attract the millions of worldwide Star Trek fans that have kept the franchise alive all these years.
