| E-MAILS Your proposed Roddenberry Highway might not be a road to the stars, but I support its creation. I am a longtime fan of all things Trek and feel Mr. Roddenberry stands up with Asimov, Bradbury and Tolkien in his vision. Good Luck! Annette DiGiacomo annette@wideopenwest.com hello, great thing to do for gene! and star trek let me know what and where i have to sign and ill pass it along to trekkies i know, (not too many, as our little culture is shrinking,) but this si a cool thing! thanks, LISA PASTRANAZOID@STARTREK.NET 17 January 2003 0830 CST Greetings Terri, Chris Gray of The Star Trek Photo Gallery ( http://www.thestpg.com/ ) Put me on your petition site. At the time of the writing, I get a "guestbook is full" error. I will continue to try to sign the guestbook as this is a tremendous idea and endeavor. Best regards, Stephen Smith Nashwauk, MN http://www.mnsdesigns.com/ I tried to sign the guest book, but it told me it was full and you had to clear the other guest. I would like to cast my vote for the highway renaming. So please consider this my vote. Long Time Fan Kurtis Blinn, Natick MA Hi, I love the idea of having a section of highway named after Gene, only when I found your site and tried to sign your guest book, a message informed me that it was full and needed to have the amount of entries reduced. Please let me know when you update your guest book so I can sign it too. Thanks! talani01@startrek.net --- Talani (SilverWolf, Literally grey wolf under a full moon) “little tiger” amoosea@lycos.com I like to express my support for the Gene Roddenberry Highway. I think it's a great idea. However, your guestbook is full. Greetings! I would like everyone to know that I and many others support the effort to name that portion of I-10 that runs through El Paso, Texas the "Gene Roddenberrry Memorial Highway". I would also like to let every one of you know that it is shameful how there has been no LOCAL coverage on this project by any of the legislators or any of the local media. International coverage, by way of a news story on Paramount Studios' website, www.startrek.com along with many other websites throughout the world, is happening however. I urge each and every one of you to go to the website that is dedicated to this project: www.geocities.com/grmhpetition and read about the project and read all of the comments of people who have voted for this project. I've seen posts from people in China that would be willing to travel to El Paso to drive on the Memorial Highway once it is named. I can't believe local legislators and media can't see the impact this would have for tourism in El Paso. For the record, I call El Paso home, even though much of the time I am on the road. Please follow up on this project and make sure it comes to be. Anne J. Stone anne_j_stone@yahoo.com I am a big fan of Gene Roddenberry and his Wife. My E-mail address is one of the character's of Star Trek TNG and I love the idea of naming a Highway after him. I am in favor a naming a lot of things after him as a Memorial. He deserves it more than almost anyone that I could name. I also signed the guest book on StarTrek.com. I hope he gets the Highway named after him the main reason being how he influenced someone, everywhere. I know he made me a Trekkie. Love, Angela Rene Ellis Hello , I regret to inform you that the button for the guest book was not available to be activated . It was there but it was buried under some other text. But please be assured of my genuine support in your efforts to have the portion of I-10 to named in Gene Roddenberry's honor. Sincerely, Mark Churchill What a great idea. Mr. Roddenberry's visions sent a clear message of hope to humanity. TREKMALL@aol.com Live Long & Prosper I'm Coordinator of Russian UnOfficial ST-club. I voted for Gene Roddenberry Memorial Hiway (wow! you work for all it projects very nice!), and then i think - here in Russia not many fans who speak english very well, and they cannot vote Gene's Hiway in eng-language sites. But I can make rus-lang form for this voting (and another you'll become :-) - if you don't mind. Please let me know, may I make it. Thanks! Good luck! Tatiana Gomozova, Russian Trekkers Club [www.trekker.ru] Dear Tony (Tony Cobos, El Paso City Councilman, District #8), On behalf of all the Star Trek fans here in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex and the extended clubs and fan groups I am a part of I think Terri's idea is great. Not only would it honor Gene Roddenberry and his memory but it would attract tourism to El Paso in much the same way as Vulcan, Alberta has done. Gene was a true visionary and gave us a world where every individual was valued for their talents and abilities. Gene's universe was a place of hope and optimism and his dream has become a worldwide phenomenon. I cannot think of a greater gift to humanity than he has given us. Naming the highway in his honor would certainly be a fitting tribute to El Paso's famous son. George "Stompy" Kuhr Webmaster to the Stars Bravo... Great idea. Here is a man who shared his vision with millions over the years. That vision touched me as a child as I watched Star Trek (Unfortunately re-runs but just as well). I still remember my father buying my first model... the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701. Although I no longer have it. I do have the same Enterprise from the re-release. That along with many other versions. As you can tell by my email, I still am a "Trekie". I'm sure it's been said many times but I feel it can be said again. The vision Gene had still effect us today. Like the big one...Cell Phones (communicator), Stun Guns(phasers),Motion activated doors, Laptops, Remote controls. The list keeps going. The best of all is the name "Enterprise". Well enough jabbering. This idea is great. I think it would be a fitting honor to the man who has taken us across the galaxy. "To Boldly Go"... Dean Spiker dinomixer@startrek.net Terri . . . I have voted on the KTSM website and am forwarding the link to several others whom I hope will participate as well. I did want to tell you how impressed I am, not only with the website but with your dedication to this effort. This is an important historical gesture and deserves the attention of all who continue to follow and revere Star Trek as well as those who have any regard for El Paso's rich heritage. I am most admiring of your efforts. This will leave a cherished legacy to El Paso and something certainly worth remembering. Joe I could not click on the link to your guestbook on the website. I would also like to see I-10 through El Paso renamed in honor of Gene Roddenberry. Thank you, Richard A. Vickers Denton, Texas |
